Research

philosophers

My research is in the field of modern and contemporary French and European thought, particularly in relation to theology, atheism, humanity and ecology.

I have published on Jean-Luc Nancy, Paul Ricœur, Maurice Merleau-Ponty, Alain Badiou, Quentin Meillassoux, Michel Serres, Bruno Latour, Catherine Malabou and Jacques Rancière. You can find a list of my books here.

Current monograph projects

In March 2020 my monograph on Michel Serres appears with Edinburgh University Press. Michel Serres: Figures of Thought is the first comprehensive introduction to the thought of Michel Serres in any language. Exceprts from the book, as well as other posts on Serres, can be found here.

I am currently working on themes of freedom, emancipation and liberation in contemporary thought and society. More information about the project is available here.

Graduate supervision

Supervising Masters and doctoral projects is one of the real joys of my job, and I am always open to hear from prospective graduate students working on an area in which I have expertise. You can contact me through my page at Monash University.
